| Customer Reviews: It works. March 31, 2010 Erik Lares (Anaheim, California USA) I bought this case for my Mosin Nagant 91/30, and it works perfectly. It has just enough room to hold my rifle and bayonette. My only problem with this case is that it is a little flimsy. It holds and protects the rifle, but that's about it.
Great gun case February 13, 2010 Dave (Dublin, OH) I ordered a Remington VLS rifle from a dealer in Texas and had it shipped to Ohio in this gun case. The case and rifle arrived in perfect condition. The case does not flex and is fairly rigid. I will use this case when I go to the rifle range. I am going to order one specifically for my Savage 12FV scoped rifle. This is a really good case for the money spent.
An Excellent Case for the Money February 9, 2010 Sir Charles Panther (Alexandria, Virginny, USandA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If I had a classic, handmade heirloom firearm to store or transport, I would not use this case. Why not? Well, this is a budget hard case, not a luxury case with all of the bells and whistles. Now, if I had a simple rifle, something of no great value and easily replaced--like a single-shot starter .22 for a young man--and yet I wanted to protect this weapon in storage and in transit, this is an outstanding value. It's exactly what I wanted, and it fits the bill exactly.
The case measures 52" long, 8 1/4" wide at the widest point of the handle, and 3 1/4" thick when closed. I use this case for a single-shot bolt action .22 with scope and bipod, and it fits just right.
The case has five four-inch-wide hinges, so the entire lid opens smoothly. The hinges are relatively tight.
There are four plastic catches. They are plastic-hinged, in that the flexible plastic of the latch is the hinge itself. I can envision a time when these, given enough use, would wear out and tear/break. The hinges are not spring-loaded, but operate on the tension of the case contents pushing the two halves apart. I have had no problems with any latches failing or popping open.
There are three locking points, one at each end/corner, and one in the center, inside the handle (visible in the product image). The diameter of the hole is 3/8" or 9mm, so it's enough for a modestly sized padlock to slip through.
The case has a lipped channel on one half, which goes around the entire case, so the case fits together and closese snugly.
There are matching scalloped foam panels on the inside, which are not affixed/glued to the inside of the case. They are cut tight, and fit well around the latches and locks inside the case.
Bottom line: This is not a top of the line case. It's a budget case to get the job done easily and efficiently. This is a great case for an everyday weapon, a starter rifle, where you want basic protection for your weapon from wear, damage and weather.

The reasons for my low-star review is:
The case is thin, and flimsy.
The buckles only work if the gun is positioned exactly right inside, usually one fully connecting, with the other three barely making contact
The foam inserts are loose inside, sliding and bunching up
The case is barely wide enough to close around my standard bolt-action .22 - the rifle must be adjusted until the bolt head slides into a groove in the plastic before the case will close.
The "hard" plastic shell is really quite soft and plyable - even when locked, and idiot could cut the case open with a pair of wire cutters in 5 seconds.
When closing the case, it will often deform around the gun, pinching fingers as I try to buckle it closed.
I'm sure there are worse cases out there, but I would never recommend this one to a friend.
awesome case for the price!!! July 13, 2009 wannabesk8r (Georgia) This is a great product for the price! I ordered this for my dad for father's day b/c he had just purchased a shotgun and didn't have a case to put it in. He was thrilled when he saw it!
